James Murray of Clooney

James MURRAY was born about 24 December 1802 and was a son of Thomas MURRAY and Rose BOND.  On 17 March 1827, James married Anne BLAIR.  Anne was the second daughter of John BLAIR, Esquire of Newry and she was the relict of the Reverend J. Johnstone, of Coal Island, County Tyrone, Ireland.  Anne Blair MURRAY died on 7 November 1836 and no children were born to this union.

James then married his cousin Hannah ALEXANDER on 01 May 1839.  Hannah was born about 1806 and was a daughter of John ALEXANDER and Hannah MURRAY.

In 1853, James was appointed J.P. High Sheriff of County Derry.  James MURRAY, Esquire of Clooney, died on 10 August 1871.  Hannah Alexander MURRAY died in 1883.

Child of James MURRAY and Hannah ALEXANDER:

i. Thomas MURRAY, who was born about 23 August 1840.  Thomas died on 11 November 1846.
