James Hunter MURRAY

James Hunter MURRAY was born on 29 September 1848 in Cambusnethan Lanarkshire.  He was a son of Robert MURRAY and Anna INGLIS.  In the early 1870's young James developed a relationship with his neighbor Jane McINNES.  Jane was born about 1855 and worked in Airdrie, Lanarkshire as a dressmaker.  She was the daughter of Peter McINNES and Ann LOUDEN.  Although not apparently married, James Hunter MURRAY and Jane McINNES had two sons.

Children of James Hunter MURRAY and Jane McINNES:

i.  Robert MURRAY, who was born on 09 August 1873 at 7 Wesleyan Street in the Bridgeton District of Glasgow.

ii.  James Hunter MURRAY, who was born on 02 July 1875 at 69 Johnson Street in Airdrie, Lanarkshire.

Jane McINNES died at her residence on South Biggar Road in Airdrie on 27 December 1875.  The informant on her record of death was her neighbor . . . James Hunter MURRAY.

James Hunter MURRAY married Elizabeth ANDERSON on 10 July 1876 at 59 Bell Street in Airdrie.  She was born about 1847 in Airdrie and was the daughter of Matthew ANDERSON and Susan KING.  Elizabeth was the widow of coal miner John McKAY.

James Hunter MURRAY died on 18 February 1913 at 5 Cameron Street in Coatbridge.  Elizabeth Anderson MURRAY died on 21 July 1919 at 49 Burnbank Street in Coatbridge.

iii.  Arthur Anderson MURRAY, who was born on 04 August 1877 at 59 Bell Street in Airdrie.

iv.  Margaret Whinnie MURRAY, who was born on 07 December 1878 at Simpson's Land in Coatdyke, Lanarkshire.

v.  Mary Anderson MURRAY, who was born on 21 August 1880 on Quarry Row in Coatdyke.

vi.  Inglis McGregor MURRAY, who was born on 09 March 1884 at 7 Cameron's Land in Coatbridge.
